Elementary Staff

Randall Rickner

Elementary Supervisor

Mr. Randall Rickner is deeply involved in many aspects of our school and church ministries. He grew up in Marion, Indiana, and attended college in Hammond, where he obtained degrees in pastoral ministries, Christian education administration, and a specialist degree in school administration. He has taught for 31 years, 12 of those being at PBA. Mr. Rickner oversees many of our children's ministries in the church as well, serving faithfully in our bus ministry each weekend, hosting many special days for the children here at the church throughout the year, and working tirelessly to reach new families. He and his wife Jan have a son and daughter who also both serve on staff at PBA. In any spare time he happens to have, Mr. Rickner enjoys golfing, running, and eating at Outback.

Jennifer Rickner

1st Grade

Miss Jennifer Rickner has been such a blessing to our school ministry in the last five years and in our church ministry even for many years before that. She grew up in Peoples Baptist Church and graduated from PBA before obtaining her bachelor's degree from Golden State Baptist College in Santa Clara, California, and her master's degree from Hyles Anderson College in Hammond, Indiana. She has taught first grade for us for five years, and the students and parents alike look forward to her class. A few of her favorite things would be some Dunkin Donuts coffee, her puppy dog Cocoa, and a good pedicure.

Patricia Gober

2nd Grade

Mrs. Patricia Gober is a long-time educator and a wonderful teacher at PBA. Mrs. Gober has taught for 37 years and is in her fifth year here at our school. She grew up in Atlanta and has a degree in Early Childhood Care and Education. She and her husband are very involved at PBC, have four children and twelve grandchildren, and just became great-grandparents this year. Mrs. Gober enjoys watching Perry Mason with her husband, reading biographies, and visiting with her children and grandchildren.

Jannah Harris

3rd Grade

Miss Jannah Harris is in her fourth year teaching at Peoples Baptist Academy. She and her family spent most of their lives as missionaries in Aomori, Japan, but traveled back to visit long enough for her to graduate from PBA. She received her bachelor's and master's degree in education from West Coast Baptist College. She loves chocolate of any kind, traveling to new places, and a good Sudoku book after a busy day.

Barb Copeland

4th Grade

Mrs. Barb Copeland is a new addition to PBA, and she has already gone above and beyond expectations. Although this is her first year at PBA, she has over fifteen years of teaching experience. She and her husband Kerry have four children, with one having just graduated from Peoples and one currently a sophomore.

Becky Cook

5th Grade

Mrs. Becky Cook has been a member of Peoples Baptist Church for many years and has served as a substitute teacher for PBA for several of those. A true Georgian, Mrs. Cook grew up in Union City and attended Georgia State University. She and her husband Jared have four children, three who are attending PBA now and one who graduated in 2013. Mrs. Cook enjoys shopping off clearance racks, drinking Diet Cokes, and watching Jeopardy and Little House on the Prairie.

Marsha Self

6th Grade

Mrs. Marsha Self has begun her thirtieth year of teaching, her fifth at PBA. She retired from the classroom but was such a great addition to PBA that we asked her to come back. She and her husband Scott (who makes the best shrimp and grits in Georgia) have been very involved members of Peoples Baptist Church, always ready to lend a helping hand. They have two children and five grandchildren. Mrs. Self loves the beach, Starbucks, and watching her students finally grasp the parts of speech.
